It's been a while since I have updated.A lot is going on and yet nothing is going on at the same time. Noah continues to amaze Dan and I every day with the things he says and does. He was a riot at Passover Seder a few weeks ago. My dad gave him a pink yarmulke to match his sweater and told him that his job during the seder was to say "amen" after every blessing. So Noah sat at the end of the table munching on some chocolate toffee matzah and said "amen" when we cued him. He also loved singing some of the Passover songs. I guess the $$ spent on Jewish preschool is paying off. And yes, that is a picture of him eating Matzah Ball Soup out of a Wiggles bowl.
What else. . . the things that come out of his mouth are so funny. A few days ago he fell and scratched the side of his face. It was tender and sore but after a few minutes he was fine. Later that afternoon we were in the car and I asked him how his boo-boo was. Noah got this very serious look on his face and in the most PATHETIC voice he could muster he patted his cheek and said "it hurts a little mommy." The kid was totally faking it, and I knew it. But the look on his face and tone of his voice were so funny. A few days later we were again in the car and I said something to Noah and his reponse to me was "that would make mommy nuts." Not sure where he picked that up from but it was funny. We've also noticed that he will start speaking very quickly and without taking a breath, but the words are incomprehensible. It's as if his mind is working faster than his mouth and the words get lost in translation. Wonder who he got that from?
I also think it's time to talk about Noah and his self-esteem issues. Let's just say that the kid is clearly NOT lacking in confidence. When I picked him up from school earlier in the week another mom stopped to tell me that when she walked into the classroom Noah came up to her and said, "Do you like my shirt? It's pretty." Last week when Dan picked him up from day care Noah wanted to show him the baby chicks in another classroom. According to Dan, Noah went straight to the cage and said, "Hi. I'm Noah Fox. You so proud of me?" It's a refrain we hear often in our house. I think it's important to tell kids when you're proud of them, and we are proud of Noah for a lot of things. When he listens. When he puts his shoes away. When he shows good behavior. When he puts his dirty diaper in the diaper champ and flips it over (he can't use the potty but he can do this). Unfortunately, Noah now asks if we're proud of him no matter what he does. The kid picks his nose and asks if we are proud of him. Ummm. . . no?

This past weekend was a weekend of two firsts: cookies and M&M's. My parents babysat Noah for a few hours and my mom and Noah made chocolate chip cookies with some ready made dough. They used a shot glass to cut them out but whever my mom turned her head we noticed Noah had another piece of the raw dough in his mouth. I guess they learn early. My dad has also devised a new game to teach Noah his colors. They shared a bag of M&M's and Noah had to name the color of the candy he held up. It was very cute, although my idea of a good time is not Noah with a sugar high at 8pm on a Sunday night.

That's about all for tonight. . . .time to go watch LOST.
