It is yearbook time!
When I was in elementary school, I was fascinated with yearbooks. I LOVED looking at them. And I could not wait to get to junior high so I could get my own yearbook. Where I lived, yearbooks were for kids in middle and high school and it was a sign that you were older and therefore COOL. In the 8th grade I took pictures for the yearbook staff mainly because it was an opportunity to take pictures my friends and I. The more pictures you had in the yearbook the more popular you APPEAR to be for future generations. Right?!Noah will not have that same experience of longing to be a part of a yearbook because he received his first yearbook today. There it was in his cubbie. . . .The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center Early Childhood Center "The Spirit of Friendship" 2004-2005 Preschool Yearbook. You can stop blinking and re-reading what I just wrote. You did read the words PRESCHOOL YEARBOOK. And despite my sarcasm, it is really cute.Every class has a page that includes the class picture and head shots of each kid. Noah entered the infant room in March (thanks to mommy's job he was able to bypass the massive waiting list) and because of this I really did not expect him to be in the yearbook since I assumed the pictures would have been taken months in advance (like a HS yearbook). But there he was on page three. Every class has a question like "what's your favorite restaurant" or "favorite place to go on vacation." Since no one in the infant room can talk the teachers were asked "What will you remember the most about the babies." Under Noah's adorable headshot (my dad will say he could have taken a better picture but that is another post) it said: "if you want to find some awesome t-shirts with cool sayings - go to Noah." Because what's the point of having kids if you can't dress them up funny, right?!Noah's teacher Miss Jaime even signed his yearbook. How cute is that?!And I think Dan's dream of having a musical child is coming true. His new favorite toy is rock n' roll Elmo (which Grandma Linda originally gave Dan a few years ago) AND according to Miss Jaime he LOVES the song "Lowrider."

I need to be more vigilant about updating
I LOVE Noah's daycare and his teachers, but I am starting to think they feed him too much. Why? Because Noah was sent home Friday afternoon because he keeps pooping everywhere. The doctors are saying that he has developed a lactose intolerance because of a rotovirus he had a few weeks ago, but I have noticed a couple of things. For one, on the weekends he eats a fraction of what he eats during the week. And two, he poops like a machine at daycare. I was also talking with the mom of one of his classmates and she has noticied the same eating habits between school and home. Interesting. . . .We also took Noah on his first 5K walk this morning. It was SOOOOOOOOO hot and while he was not happy about waking up at 5:45am, he seemed to have a good time. There were two other families with strollers but we beat them to the finish line. The joke was that we came in first place in the stroller division.

Life is crazy
Let's just say that life is crazy.First Noah was sick with a sinus infection over Passover. During that week, Dan and I alternated who stayed home with him and who went to work.He was fine all last week and now he is sick again. On Monday he ran a low fever for about 6 hours but we had to keep home on Tuesday since you have to be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT the aid of medicine before you can return to daycare. Dan stayed with him Monday and Tuesday afternoons and I went to work. And he was fever free.So we brought him in this morning. At 9:40am I got a call that while sitting on the floor he had a BIG, YUCKY, EXPLOSIVE poop. At 10:05am I got a call that I needed to pick him up. So we went to the ped. who said he probably has a virus (whatever) and we went home. He now has to be diarrhea free for 24 hours.Dan and I are SOOO tired since we're trying to once again juggle Noah and work. How is Noah doing now, well, to quote a woman I work with he is "full of shit."
